Welp, quite a few people have been asking for it… it’s a music editor!

This program works quite differently to normal MIDI editors which I tried replicating in version 1, but somehow I found it harder to program than my neural network program!.. so I made version 2, and then 2.5, which is this.

To make a note, press and hold A. Use UP and DOWN to change the length of it, and then release A. You can press B to delete the note, or you can use LEFT and RIGHT to change the pitch, and then press A to confirm and make more notes. You can also modify the length of existing notes by holding A over them and using UP and DOWN, or you can just change the pitch by tapping A. You can switch voices by pressing LEFT/RIGHT before making notes and move forward/backwards in time using UP/DOWN.

By pressing PAUSE, you can switch areas. The second area is a menu, where you can save your song to the transfer memory and load it to edit it again, clear notes (I’ll get to that later) or your song, change the note speed and test it by pressing A, play songs directly from the transfer memory and from the program, and export/convert the song to be compatible with the SOUND command by replacing all “DATA”s with “SOUND”, ready for your games.

The third area is the notes area… not the music-note type, but as in “taking a note” type of note. You can draw with A and erase with B to make a plan you can follow and experiment with different pitches and melodies (though I used it to decorate the icon with rainbo– I mean, Ledger Lines, and notes, and graphs, and other random stuff that totally aren’t rainbows). A really useful feature is that when you tap A, you can hear what note it’s on.

I really hope the community will use this program to easily make their soundtracks… I know I will! But seriously, I wanted this program to kind of “revolutionize” sound in LowRes Coder as not many programs have them, either because programmers can’t be bothered making music or they simply don’t know how. Although if this program gets really popular, I may have to change the icon to something more serious…

pls don’t sue me
