HOGOWORD (v1.2):

Original game by HOGOFILM

Welcome to HOGOWORD, a game in which you make seven guesses at a four-letter-long mystery word and receive clues after each guess until you reach your final answer. These guess words do not have to be actual words, which can be helpful when you want to test certain letters in certain locations. Each round, the mystery word is selected randomly from a list of predetermined options. The clues that you receive after making a guess are in the form of the characters “C,” “W,” and “-.” A “C” means that any one of the letters in your guess word is included in the mystery word and is in the correct location. A “W” means that any one of the letters in your guess word is included in the mystery word, but is in the wrong location. A “-” means that any one of the letters in your guess word is not in the mystery word whatsoever. The locations of each of these hint characters are not related to the locations of the letters in your guess word which means that they can not be used to improve your guess. As an example of how these hints work, a mystery word “GAME” and a guess word “PALM” would result in the hint “CW–” because the “A” is in the correct location of the word, the “M” is in the wrong location of the word, and the “P” and “L” are not in the word at all. This game is quite similar to Mastermind, as some might recognize. I made this program ten months ago, but never decided to release it because I never got around to finishing it. At the moment, it is still missing some features that I would like to add, so I may follow up with some update(s).
