3D KARTS by 64PBRB

First attempt at sound and “3D” graphics!

This is a “game” I’ve been working on for a while after Alien Worms came out. This is kind of like Mario Karts, except low res. You get to design a track and then drive around it, either trying to beat your time or trying to beat other AI “racers”. Anyway, here’s how you use the program:
When the game starts you’ll get a green screen with numbers in the top left and a dot in the middle. That dot is your drawing tool. To change the size press B, and when it gets to the maximum it’ll change colours, which represent what you’ll be drawing if you press A; green is grass which slows you down a bit, yellow is a gravel road which makes you be able to drive faster that on grass, and blue is a barrier which stops you if you try to drive through it. After you build your track you’ll need to set up checkpoints, which is relatively easy; after you toggle through all of the previously mentioned colours you’ll get to a grey dot. If you place it near the middle of one of those numbers in the top left and press A, it’ll allow you to move the numbers until you press A again. Place these checkpoints in order around your track, with 6 at the starting line if your track loops around, or if it doesn’t just put 6 at the end. But whatever you do, DON’T PUT 1 WHERE YOU START. Make sure that you don’t start on a horizontal part of the track because you start looking down. You can also save and load a track by using the tools after the grey dot. It takes a while to save and load, but at least it works.
To start racing press PAUSE. It’ll take a few seconds to enter racing mode. When it renders you’ll see the speed in the bottom middle-left area, the checkpoint number you need to go to in the bottom middle-right area, and a compass in the bottom right corner that always points north (up in the drawing mode). Depending on the mode, you’ll either see the game ticks you took completing laps or how many checkpoints you and the AI racers passed. Use UP to accelerate, DOWN to brake, LEFT and RIGHT to turn, B to enter map mode to figure out which way you’ve turned and A to go back into 3D mode. Also, you can return to editing the track using PAUSE.

/////////////////////////////////////SUMMARY\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\
DRAW MODE
UP/DOWN/LEFT/RIGHT: Aim draw tool
A: Use tool
B: Toggle size/tool
PAUSE: Start racing

RACE MODE
UP/DOWN: Accelerate/Brake
LEFT/RIGHT: Turn
A: Exit map mode
B: Enter map mode
PAUSE: Return to drawing

If it’s too slow or fast because you have a newer/older device you can change the field of vision, driving speed, racing mode, etc. at the start of the code. Anyway, I hope everyone enjoys this program!
